Seri Kembangan was built as Serdang New Village in 1952 when the British moved the Malay Chinese villagers living around Sungai Besi to a concentrated area due to the communist danger as part of the state of emergency in Malaya, a major aspect of the Briggs Plan. The first must-see attraction is The Nageswary Amman Temple, formally known as Om Sri Maha Athi Nageswary Amman Temple, is a Hindu shrine located in Puchong, Petaling District, Selangor, Malaysia. This shrine was established in 2013 and it was authoritatively blessed in February 2016. It is respected among many different shrines, as the design is conceptual and unexpectedly constructed, with statues of different gods highlighted near the passage. The shrine is dedicated to the god Nageswary Amman. The goddess is known to be mounted on a snake, as the vast majority of statues near the passage are of gods mounted on snakes. The shrine has been worked in the Dravidian style, and the shrine features 4 gopurams, as well as a sum of 354 snakes carved around the shrine. Despite the presence of various carved gods in the walls of the shrine, a 65-foot Shiva lingam stands in the center of the shrine, behind the main gopuram.
